NIPUN Bharat Mission: Ensuring Foundational Literacy and Numeracy

The NIPUN Bharat Mission (National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy), launched in 2021 under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by the Ministry of Education, aims to ensure that every child in India attains foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of Grade 3. Targeting children aged 3 to 9 years, the mission focuses on equipping them with essential reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, laying the groundwork for lifelong learning. Key objectives include bridging learning gaps, universalizing education access, training teachers through capacity-building programs, reforming curriculum and pedagogy to be child-centric and activity-based, implementing regular assessments and monitoring mechanisms to track progress, and actively involving parents and communities in the learning process. The mission is executed at national, state, district, and school levels, with flexibility for States and Union Territories to adapt strategies based on local needs while leveraging digital tools to enhance learning, particularly in underserved areas. Kendriya Vidyalaya Deogarh, aligned with this vision, is committed to implementing the mission effectively to improve learning outcomes. Through a collective effort from educators, parents, and communities, NIPUN Bharat is set to transform India’s education system, ensuring a strong foundation for the nation’s future generations.
